Alternative UK electronics shops, need particular part

Post by i8cookie » Wed Nov 18, 2009 10:59 am

Hi,

I've looked around without luck so far. I'm trying to power a high powered LED and I'm looking for a suitable power supply. None of the usual places seem to stock a mains adapter that had a roughly 15-18v and 1.6-2.5a output. This one is pretty good from cpc farnell: http://cpc.farnell.com/stontronics/3a-3 ... dp/PW02465
But one with a slightly higher voltage would be better, anyone know a good shop?

thanks

Hi

What voltage are you needing? I'm sure Farnell (http://www.farnell.co.uk) and probably CPC have a range of power supplies similar to the one you linked to, certainly 12V supplies should be readily available.

anything higher than 12v seems to be tough to get hold of. I need 15-18v, and ones that do go up to that seem to have low amps, which I need to be around 2.

Sorry, I misread your post as needing less than 15V last night (was in a hurry). I tend to forget about ebay too when searching - always worth a try though. Good to hear its sorted.
