Inductor Colour Code Calculator

This calculator converts colour codes to inductor values.

To convert from value to colours:

Type the inductance in the box below and select the units and (optionally) the tolerance from the drop-down boxes. The colour bands will be displayed below on the image of the inductor.

To convert from colours to value:

Hover the mouse over the coloured bands on the image of the inductor to display the colour selector box, then click on the required colour. Repeat for all bands (tolerance is optional). The inductance will be shown in the box above the image, along with the units and tolerance.

Note that these colour codes are for the normal specification - military specification components have a different code for the multiplier and tolerance. The colour code gives the inductance in Microhenrys.
