Conductance

Conductance is the reciprocal of resistance,

i.e. Conductance G = (1 / Resistance

Units of Conductance are Siemens (S)

Calculating Resistors in Parallel Using Conductance:

G = G1 + G2 + G3 .....

(Total conductance is greater with more resistors in parallel so resistance is less.)

Calculating Resistors in Series Using Conductance:

(1/G) = (1/G1) + (1/G2) + (1/G3) .....

(Total conductance is less, because resistance is greater.)
