Resistors and LEDs

Post by Fractal Cat » Thu Jun 04, 2015 12:56 am

Hi,

I know that usually you put a resistor in series with an LED so it doesn't fry the LED and that the resistor comes first, but I have seen leds coming first, followed by a resistor. What's
happening in that case?

Regards

FC.

It makes no difference which way round they are, current = EMF/ Resistance. Resistance is the same which ever way round they are ... A light bulb a battery and a switch is the same if the switch is before or after the bulb, it just breaks the circuit.

Tar&stuff.
