Help with transistors please

Hi all
First of all I am a bit of a novice with electronics so forgive me up front.
I have a battery charger and I need to change the transistors, I have swapped out pretty much all other components but still the LED will not light up when the battery is connected. And yes I have tested the LED
The transistors are marked up as follows:

Transistor one: A1015 GR 9E
Transistor Two: C945 P 98C

I have had a look online but get different results I am confused with the markings as I cannot find the same ones.
Can some help me identify them.

Er... may be the code on the board is a manufacturer code?
Can you see any thing on the black case?
Is there power getting to the base... ie is being switched on?

The code on the cases are as above, to test for power i need to understand which is the base leg emitter and collector.
But I cannot find the schematic diagram for the transistor.

I just read it again, why do you need to change them?, you can test to see if they are working or not with out knowing what they are.

I have tested them and taken a photo see attached.
I testing thinking that the right leg is the emitter and the center leg is the base.
From this I thick one is a PNP and one is a NPN transistor.
But when I looked on the net the pins change around so do not know if I am testing them correctly and an additional question is can you test them in circuit without removing them from the board.

Additional

On the circuit the + lead to the LED is on the same track of the middle pin of the A1015 transistor with a resistor in between.
Which is marked as R3 on the board and the reading from this is 1.496K Ohms

Hi, the only bits I can understand from the pics is the transformer the 4 diode bridge rectifier and fuse.

Total off the top of my head >over heating curcuit... may be a thermistor and relay with some transistors and a smoothing cap... total guess work.

To test the tranies either you get a voltage to all 3 points relative to 0v and +v or you dont.

A pick of the other side of the board would shed some light.

You only need the transformer and bridge rectifier to charge the batts... the fuse is useful as are the other bits, but can be by passed.
Got things to do etc ... I will be back in a bit.

At least one transistor switches the relay when batt voltage is high, it is normaly off when it switches on it switches the relay and opens the charging curcuit therefor regulating the voltage.

Isthere power from the diode output to the board?
