I just dont get it - HELP
I just dont get it - HELP
Hi all,
Happy new year. I am just getting into electronics and finding it hard to understand the terminlogy and how to work out stuff. I go to one website I get it, then another website it then confuses me.
I am working with sensors and when I read the datsheet I get thrown into confussion. I am struggling with memory locations what and how to set them. LSB, MSB etc.
I am looking for a basic guide thats all. I am in London, if anyone wants to meet up for a drink (i'll pay) or so, then let me know. I would much appreciate it.
Many thanks
Nathan

Hi Nathan,
LSB refers to the least significant bit, e.g. the smallest unit in binary code 1 or 0. MSB refers to the most significant bit or highest number, this is also sometime refered to as the left most bit as it appears at the left hand end of the binary number.
hope this helps

hello
im new here and to electronics
personally i wouldnt pay for something and not in a pub atmosphere. im going to go to college for an hnc in breadmakin..., no wait a minute i meant electronics, thats the one!
i have completed a btec level 3 already and going to start in september. i have also joined an amateur radio club and attained my intermediate license, going for the full license in september. this requires some electronics knowledge. if your into amateur radio, then it could pay to join an amateur radio club as they can help with the electronics stuff, though mostly radio stuff. thats what im into.
reading books helps, lots of books. also there are some online software that can help. if your going to pay then these may help you try here for a free download trial. http://www.etcai.com/index.htm
i also have some learning kits i got from ebay for real cheap. i got this thing called gakken ex 150. 150 experiements in basic electronics, mostly radio. another kit called learning lab by radioshack, this covers digital stuff as well. i also have a heathkit et3400. this teaches how micro processors work. though i havent looked at it much as i have other stuff to read first.
what in particular is it about sensors that you dont understand? im sure there is a youtube video that will help.
other wise try me, ill see what i can do

Well, I am a wrinkly old git... grey beard and evry thin...
I live a long way from London.
The problem with forums is the people who own them jump in on the thread, any objections get deleted, the site owner has dozens of avatars to spam thier point across, I think these forums could be great... I learn a lot from them.
This one does not appear to have a gestapo throwing its weight around... I have answered a lot of questions... (done my best) ... I am not site crew.
Hey come back for a chat. Try answering a few get a bit more interest in the site.
