I'm wondering if pc tower power supply units could be converted to a 12v car battery charger, ( i can salvage these things for free ) i would need a 14.8 volt output, and some further work on charge control. I dont know what the average amp output is on these units, but i see some up to 20 amps.
What do you think ?

Hi. look on web in Australia for Electronic Mag called Silicon Chip they had a project to convert cpu power supply's in it
not sure what year but easy to convert I do have all the mag's in boxes about 30 years of them can't tell what year but the web may help ( Just be carefull these supply's when open DO BIte )
