Using capacative or resistive touchscreen through glass
Can anyone tell me if it is possible to use an existing touchscreen on for instance an iphone through a sheet of glass or perspex about 1 cm thick. Do the "touch commands" rely on electrical sensing or simply by sensing the position of the finger or stylus. I would assume the sheet of glass etc would have to be touching the iphone screen in this scenario.
Any ideas or advice welcome.
Thanks

Re: Using capacative or resistive touchscreen through glass
Since you've had no replies since July, I'll offer what little knowledge I have.
I own a phone with a capacitive touch screen, and it will ONLY respond to a finger, not a stylus!
Coincidentally, my previous phone was resistive and it would work with anything you could press into the screen - which was 'bendy' (for lack of a better term!).
Therefore, in my opinion, I don't think such a thick sheet of glass would allow anything useful through.
Have you tried some testing anyway?! I would find a pub with a glass table and some friends with new-ish phones and go from there!
