EXAR 2206

Hi Everyone,
I'm in Worcester and as frustrated as h***.
I'm trying to source an XR-2206 monolithic function generator in the UK but none of the usual suspects even list it!
I need it as a basic signal generator for a project that is threatening to become real.
Can anyone help, Please?

Well then, could anyone suggest anywhere in the EU worth a try?

I got to be honest, I only got to this site because someone at work sent me a link to some info here. Before I left I took a look at the home page and noticed a question about an XR2206. It just so happens that a couple of weeks ago I copied a 20 year old magazine article for someone about an XR2206 based signal generator project. I'm not in the UK, I'm in the US. You might try the EXAR website http://www.exar.com Here is the exact page for the IC http//www.exar.com/Common/Content/ProductDeta ... ?ID=XR2206 Maybe EXAR can direct you to a European source. A good source here is Jameco www.jameco.com They have it in stock but they might get you with shipping costs. The only other idea I have is look for someplace that sells equipment and electronic supplies to Technicial Schools or Universities.

Thank you for your suggestions. I didn't realise the chip was that old!
As it happens I eventually found it at Cricklewood Electronics and with some luck it should arrive tomorrow.
BTW the Exar website (European section) was not very helpful in that it only directs one to Future Electronics who don't list it either!
