switch adapting toys

Post by sparks1664 » Thu May 29, 2014 9:34 pm

Hello i have a son who has special needs and needs help playing with his toys, To enable him to use his toys i have rewired the toys switch to a big button type switch which he can press more easily (see attached pic)

Now what I would like to do is make the switch wireless so there's no longer a trailing cable from the switch to the toy, It would also be useful if one wireless switch could switch a number of toys.

if anyone could give me some advice where to start that would be great

many thanks chris

There are many wireless switches out there, garage remotes for example, but they usually require a 12VDC supply. Many toys are powered by one or two batteries so this may be a problem?

You also don't want several toys switching on at the same time so some type of multi-channel circuit will be needed which involves having to select which toy is switched on, another problem?

could have all the toys on the same channel and only turn one toy on at a time.
looks like i will need a very small no/nc relay which i could mount on the toy, but still unsure which type of switch to use
