Remote control of heating valve
Just had a new boiler installed. The motorized valve in my heating system should connect directly to the boiler, but this is impossible without a lot of upheaval - moving furniture, lifting carpets, floor boards etc. So I am looking for way of doing this by remote control, i.e. wirelessly.
The boiler has two terminals, which would normally supply 230Vac to the valve when it needs to be opened. The remote control transmitter would have to send an ON signal to the receiver when there was 240V on the boiler terminals. The receiver would have to supply 240V to the valve motor. Removing 240V from the boiler terminals would have the opposite effect.

Hi you can use something like this
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Wireless-Gate ... 4223wt_932
get a simple 12v transformer power supply maplin to power the unit, I think the relay power handling should suffice but just check wattage of pump if not use the contacts to switch larger relay or just change the on board one.

sorry just re-read your post, it seems your transmitter wants to turn on automatic, I will have to get the grey matter flowing.

ps the key fob could be converted to work after all its only a simple on off switch. also its a very cheap solution! you would need to change it to non latching with delay otherwise it will be transmitting continuously to the receiver.the key fob only uses low voltage you could use an old phone charger to power it.

Re: Remote control of heating valve
Just a quick note to say thank you for your suggestion. In the end I did not have to go down this route as I found that I was able to use a wire which became redundant when the old boiler was removed.
