In line gain control?
In line gain control?
Hi everyone
Forgive me if, in my ignorance, I am asking a stupid question - this is my first post.
What I want to do is insert some sort of gain control between a Audio-Technica ATR55 Cardioid Condenser Shotgun Microphone (impedance 2200 ohms +/- 30%) and a miniDV camcorder. The idea is to set the audio input level on the camera to 0 dB, then, as I am filming I can monitor the audio level via the on-screen peak meter, and adjust via a potentiometer.
I don't want to boost the signal, only cut it. The output from the microphone is not balanced line, but mini-jack, i.e. shield and live.
Can anyone suggest a simple circuit that will do the Job?
Many thanks in anticipation.

Don't worry guys, question answered on another forum. Thanks anyway
