Re: wire identification

Hello With a small induction motor, it is common to have a motor run capacitor across part of the motor main coils. This gives an extra phase angle and the rotor effectively sees a two-phase travelling field which drags the rotor around. Assuming that you have not altered anything on the motor itsel...

Re: help with semiconductor identification

Hello Hmmm … I was rather surprised that you cannot find suitable IGBTs on Google. Lets try another way. Most customer electrics are very broadly similar to those made by other manufacturers For example, have a look at toasters - they are virtually identical when he cases are removed! You might like...

Re: Search Guard 1,000,000 Candle Power Spotlight power requirements?

A look at Google will find lots of spotlights offering various amounts of light (look at these figures with a pinch of salt). See if you can find anything which looks like your torch. If so, check out what PSUs (wall warts) you have about. They will usually be marked with the output voltage. Don't u...

Re: Amplifier made of older Sony car stereo

Hi. I do not have a Sony radio in my car, and what I was trying to say is that I can't give you chapter and verse about modifying any equipment other than by general comments. I am happy to give you as much help as I can, but I cannot do much in the way of very detailed comment where I have no exper...

Re: Circuit for emergency lighting?

OK. I think that you might be approaching the "mend-it-with-a-new-one" threshold here. I have had a quick search for "emergency lighting" on Google, and it throws up a huge number of LED emergency lights of varying specifications with price tags from less than £5.00 upwards. If t...

Re: Circuit for emergency lighting?

I'm not 100% sure what you are trying to do here. Do the lights work as you want now, with a 6V supply (which I presume they do)? If you just want to run two emergency lamps off a 12V supply, then you might like to try with the lamps connected in parallel, but with a suitably rated 6V Zener diode in...

Re: Amplifier made of older Sony car stereo

I have just had a casual look at the TDA8588AJ/R1Cu, and it seems to be a very powerful chip. It should certainly provide as much output as you will ever need. Try hooking up the little Chinese radio outputs to the Sony inputs. If you are lucky, that may do most, if not all, of what you want to do. ...

Re: Newbi saying Hello.

Hello You will need a PIR sensor, and high brightness LEDs, possibly a few more small components as well, and rechargeable batteries. These are easily available on Google. You might be able to get a single unit which will incorporate most of your wishes. Post a circuit diagram (and / or more info on...

Re: Upgrading AMD GPU - Should I do it now or wait?

This is a rather subjective question. Perhaps it would be fruitful for you to contact AMD and see if they can tell you more about their new range of graphics cards?
