Re: Newbie with 24v motor question

Yes you can. The easiest way is to use a potentiometer but it is inefficient at low speed. That is assuming it is a commutator motor, as it works when you wire it to a battery it probably is...it can't be a stepper motor any way. I work nights and do 50 hours a week just now, I also have a trawler a...

Re: Complete novice looking for help.

Why not disconnect the front parking light and use the front indicators to switch the relay? Not sure how the front parking light is wired so can't advise how to rewire it to its own relay. You say sends a voltage down a wire... There is a voltage between two points, it cannot be sent anywhere, a cu...

Re: Pid temperature control

Right so you don't have an old one which is broken, I have the complete wrong end of the stick here... As far as I can see the PID is a device which switches the heater on and off according to a programme, it senses past history to tell it how often to switch the heater on, giving a smoother heat th...

Re: Pid temperature control

If you look at the top pic there is an L shaped hole in the board, there is orange wire behind the hole, the wire is a similar colour to burned copper, I thought it was a burned PCB track in the area of the relay, on second inspection it is obviously a hole... My mistake. Still may be I/we can repai...

Re: Pid temperature control

I don't know where to buy one. Maybe you could repair the old one. If you look at the board you see a PCB track burned out, it appears to be on the power supply side, not the micro controller side. I suspect the blue relay is stuck on, maybe you need to replace the relay and repair the track. If you...

Re: 4.5v to 3.8v led help

Hi, take no notice of the radiation bit, you can get stuff from the skip round the back of the hospital that is dangerous. Watch your eyes though. The voltage of the LED is 3.5 ...that means it will drop 3.5v regardless of current through it. If you put a resistor in series with it a current of 30mA...

Re: Loud speaker circuit for Laptop

It is kinda quite difficult to get my head round that, would you like to explain more clearly ...

Three wires suggests stereo... 1 earth and 2 channels.

You also need to match impedance.

Tell me more ...try to be clear.

Re: ldr motor control, circuit help.

I don't understand the diagram. What is DR? What is the blue arrow for? How can the resistor be 1r to 10r? Maybe replace the 10R resistor with one designed to take a heavier current is if it is 1/4 watt replace it with a 1/2 watt 10R. Maybe replace the motor with a similar load and see if the circui...
