Hi All

First post and I'm an Electrician so go easy on me !

I wonder if anyone would be kind enough to offer me some advice on where I might be able to get (what I think is) a replacment Potentiometer from

The details on the back of the potentiometer are RV30YN20S B2Kohm 9108D the top has a rotating knob and there are three connections all used 1 2 3

It is used to vary the speed to a motor possibly connected to other electronics

Orright mate, one Sparks to another, a tip. The Maplins advice is sound ( although they're not much cop for hobby electronics nowadays ), but since your pot' is used in motor-control, the chances are that it is a Lin. or LINEAR pot that you need, not a Log. or LOGARITHMIC. The difference is that in a Lin. pot. the resistance is increased or decreased directly in relationship to the turn of the control knob, while a Log. pot's response is more like a steeply-curving graph. Either will work, but with a log, all the control will be in the last bit of the knob's turn, usually preferred in audio volume controls. Cdog
