CONDUCTIVITY HELP!

Hi all
I need some help with an item ..
The easiest way to describe it is as a torch / flash light
The torch/flashlight is currently made from Aluminium with a rechargeable battery , and uses the body of the torch as the negative .
If the body was made from stainless steel instead , I know it will still work , and I know stainless isnt a great conductor but what i need to know is
what detremental effect would this have on the rechargeable battery?
would it discharge at a higher rate etc.. ?
Thanks in advance .
Kind Regards
