Power in France

Post by johnboy » Fri Jun 20, 2008 9:56 am

Hi, I know very little about electricity and I need help quickly.
I am going to France tomorrow and want to take a little radio/cd player with me.

Problem: the markings on the power plug/adaptor says AC:230V ~ 50Hz 10W, so what do I use in France?
The litriture for the device say in France the power requirements are : Ac: 120 V CA, 60Hz.
What voltage does this thing run on?
Help

Hi

The power supply in France is the same as the UK and the rest of Europe, 230V AC 50Hz. The only difference is the sockets - you will need a travel adapter to connect the UK plug to a continental socket.

For reference 120V is used in the USA and Canada.
