Choosing the Right Stepper Motor

Post by Frank » Wed Feb 19, 2025 6:38 am

Hi everyone.

I'm building a CNC but I'm not too sure about some things and I need help.
I bought 3 DRV8825 stepper modules, got my code up and running, and tested the system with an old Nema 17 stepper I got from an old floppy drive. The problem is that these motors are pretty weak and I want a stronger and more suitable stepper motor in the final build.

I'm considering 2 or 3 stepper motors but I don't know which one will perform better in terms of accuracy and efficiency. Essentially I want to CNC PCBs, as well as common cutting pieces like wood and aluminum. So it requires good accuracy.

Which of the following engines is the best? (Using DRV8825 driver)
