malfunctioning LED bedside light

My 90-year-old mother has a small (approx. 8x4 in) Lumie bedside light (LP1 V2.0) (c) 2008 that she really likes.
The PCB has got a contact for the mains, a DC switch, 45 little LEDs, and 15 resistors.
The light has started to malfunction, i.e., the lights go off and on (more off than on) depending on how you touch/move the mains cable in the contact.
(It seems that the problem may be with the contact?)
All the LEDs come on (or not at all).
She's lost without it.
I was wondering whether anyone could advise on what the problem is, whether it could be fixed easily (and more cheaply than a new light), etc.
I've had a look at new lights but can't afford the nearest equivalents.
My mother's is in pretty much perfect condition visually speaking.
(I haven't got a camera/phone camera.)
Thank you in advance for any suggestions.
