Electronics 2000

I'm currently building a full scale call of duty mystery box for a friends birthday and half way through I thought it'd be kinda cool if I could add some sound and lights, for those who don't know there's a little jingle that's plays when opened and some question marks the Illuminate alternately.
My carpentry and electrics Knowledge is fairly good but electronics not so good, which is where you guys come in (I hope )
I'm thinking of two groups of about 10 LEDs to flash alternatly for the question marks on the lid
About 3m of rgb strip lights around the inside flashing at the same speed as the other LEDs but changing colour
A small speaker hooked up to some sort of sound recording/playing module
Micro switch to activate on opening the lid
And then some way of tying it all together? Micro chip thingy? lol

The light/sound sequence would last around 8/10 seconds and if possible I'd like to be able to adjust the flashing speed (to match jingle tempo) and set what colours the rgb LEDs will flash ( so there's no neon pink or green)

Like I say I got a basic knowledge of electronics and how they work but I tend to stick to off the shelf rgb controllers and voice recorders on projects like this and usually on separate circuits but this guy deserves something a little special

Yea it is poss but a pain to work it all out... Simple when you know how.

An excellent circuit book is "The Art of Electronics" by Horowitz and Hill - available online from various retailers. The latest editions are somewhat pricey, but the 1st ed is still available and still good.
