TV remote control code

Hi, I have a tv remote control that is a bit hit and miss, but it does still work.... I have been trying to replace it , but without success as there is no ID mark on the TV or the remote ...I have tried several remotes that either learn a code or able to transmit various codes to see if one code works ...again without success .... is there anyone out there who can identify the code for me if I send it ? it drives me crazy that this small thing cannot be replaced without so much hassle ...any suggestions welcome (honest) regards Paul
