Auto Mains failure Project

Guys

Id like to kick off alittle project, and need alittle assistance/help/guidence. Im looking to build an AMF with GenStart capability, and hopefully a remote monitor via Ethernet.

So id like the AMF to take at least 2 inputs. One directly from UK mains, the other via a UPS backed up via a Genny, nothing to beefy, maybe in the region of 6.5KVA.

Upon mains failure the AMF would auto start the Gen, and switchover to the Genny inputs after 2 mins of monitoring, to esnure that the genny has sucessfully started, and what load is being pulled.

A UPS will be connected directly to the load, and the UPS could be any white label system, even Leisure batteries. the Mains/Gen supply from the AMF would be seen as the source feed to the UPS.

Upon mains restoring, the system would continue to draw form the UPS/Gen, but monitor the mains supply for 15mins, then switch back to mains. The Genny would be required to run for an additional 5 mins to allow to cool down under no load.
Id like to build an AMF that has a LCD display, Showing

Mains supply volts
Mains supply amps/load

UPS/Gen supply volts
UPS/Gen supply load

id like to also build in a test function, that once hit would autostart the genny and monitor the supply for definable period of time, say 5mins, then shut down the system.

Similary if possible id also like to try and make the appliance LAN visible. Im not bad with application coding so this would be the icing on the cake. it would have more or less the same functions as the LCD screen and the test function.

Ideally the design would be relay free to avoid bouce, so solid state, but happy to use them if best. Also take into consideration best practices, opto-isolation, and no feedback/isolation into the national grid once the gen is running.

Im sure this cant be hard to construct, as alot of the compoment probably exist as other projects on here, for example, mains failure emergency lights.....

What will this be doing? Nothing much, just powering my home lab in the work shop, which costs of a bunch of servers, switches, routers, and some telphony gear.

Ive seen that I can purchase this as a prebuilt appliance for about 250£, but would like to try and build one.
