Resistor Calculator
Resistor Calculator
Hello,
First of all I'd like to give a big thx to the makers of this program.
Even though I don't use it on a frequent base, the times I do use it, it helps me a lot
Now there is one sugestion I'd like to make.
I know it will probably be a lot of coding work but I would like to see a feature where you can enter or select the color band codes and EA2000 gives you the resistor value.
This would be very helpful if you have some resistors laying around from wich you do not know their Ohms value.
I know I could get my multimeter and just measure it but still, I think it would be a nice addition to the program.
I have found an online version of this so if you want to check what I mean:
http://www.weethet.nl/english/hardware_ ... ulator.php
As you can see, you can select the color band codes from a dropdown list and below the resistor's value is shown.
Thanks again for this cool program

Re: Resistor Calculator
Hi,
You can do this - click on each resistor band, a pop-up selection box will appear. Click on the appropriate colour, and the resistance will be calculated and shown in the box.
Edit:
I'm not sure if you mean the online version or Electronics Assistant. With the online version you simply need to hover the mouse over the colour band on the resistor, the selection box should then be displayed.

I meant Electronics Assistant.
Thx for the info, I had no idea!

Re: Resistor Calculator
Thanks for this one this will help me to.
Re: Resistor Calculator
Yes correct,I know Resistor Calculator
This calculator can determine the resistance of up to 10 resistors in parallel.
Enter resistances into the boxes below and when all values have been input, click on the CALCULATE button and the result will appear in the box below that button.
Thank you for the post!!!!!!!!!

Re: Resistor Calculator
In some cases, there is no way to find what is the first band. From left to right or right to left?
Can anybody answer me?

Re: Resistor Calculator
It is in the first sentence of the program you mention; "Usually a resistor has either a silver or a gold band. Keep that one to the right (as seen above). You're now looking at the proper color code order (from left to right)."
