Hello people.

I'm new to this forum but been interested in electronics since I can remember. I'm definitely a newbie but have tried minor projects & can solder etc

In my hobby/sport, we use handheld radios to which we have a licence to use them. One radio has a speaker mic with female aux port (I use electronic ear defenders connected via aux lead to my speaker mic) & my other radios speaker mic doesn't.

My question for you guru's is this......

Can I wire a female aux port in place of the speaker or can I wire it in parallel of the speaker

Thanks

Nick

I assume the two radios are similar. The short answer is "probably". It would certainly help if you could post pics on the insides of each radio, for comparison.

Not quite sure what you are trying to do in the last paragraph. You may well need to examine the aux socket carefully - some have switching to do associated things, such as short or open the audio somewhere. Experiment!
