Hi all.

I need to get 7.4v output from 12v input. I have some 7809 regulators and a schematic to get this from 12v to 9v, but I need 7.4v to run a Canon camera on my telescope. Is it a case of fitting a resistor of some size, and if so, where would this go (I presume after the final capacitor and before the output socket), and what size resistor would I need? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Go to top of this page Electronics 2000 and click on download tab and download electronics assistant. You will find a calculator for voltage regulator out-put adjustments in adjustable or fixed V-regulators. Hope this helps.

I think the best device to use will be the LM317T. These are very cheap, and the data sheet can be found on the internet. It should do all that you want.
