Re: New beginner also new to Web sit

Hello. Congrats to start a new hobby at 55! Electronics is one that can be interesting for the rest of your life. Please don't buy rubbish parts and materials. That is the quickest way to get disinterested! Meters usually have a scale of tens of ohms like this: up to 200 (200 ohms) up to 2K (2,000 o...

Re: Infrared heater remote control bypass possible?

Hello. I think you are going the wrong way. You say that you have bought two heaters which are barely useable, and if they were bought through Amazon send them back and get your cash returned. (Which? will help you if you have problems about getting the first sellers to pay up.) Buy something which ...

Re: Akura Retro Phono n BT Player AITVS550 BTRB

Hello. This is a very difficult job to do, especially if you are not aquainted with dealing with SMDs (Surface Mounted Devices). SMDs are close together on a board, and often very difficult to replace. A schematic is absoutely essential if you are going down to board level, or if you cannot ascertai...

Re: HELP! Countdown timer plug/socket with remote controls wanted

Amazon has over 2,000 results just for "remote socket control" in a quick look. It is difficult for me to know just what you want, so all I can say is that you will have to find just what you want by doing your own searching. A professional will help with the choice you need, and also make...

Re: Alternate forward/reverse pulses from single push-button

Hello. Your request seems reasonably easy to do, but there are many things which need to be specified first. Do you want to send mains pulses, or (say)12V pulses? Any difficulty if you need a spare pulse (i.e. two or more sequential pulses of the same polarity? Any long distance between push button ...

Re: Noob question - clap activated pcb

Hello. Presumably the LEDs go dim before going out permanently, and I would guess that the battery supply is weak. An examination to check that all the components are correctly inserted, with no shorts or unattached wiring is a good place to start. Try new batteries. Many suppliers such as RS Compon...

Re: stationary alarm/buzzer

RS Components may help you here. Put "Vibra Sense Click Vibration Sensor" into Google. You will need to have a 10 second delay module as well as switches. There are many kits on the net which may be of use to you.

Re: Sensor for Rowing Machine

These pics seem to show one sensor with black and white wires, and another with all black wiring. These could be reed relays, but the pics are not very good. Reed relays are quite old tech nowadays, but are still available. They work by the proximity of a magnet. If you have a multimeter and can rea...
