It is in the first sentence of the program you mention; "Usually a resistor has either a silver or a gold band. Keep that one to the right (as seen above). You're now looking at the proper color code order (from left to right)."

Hi there, thanks for that!! I cannot see any markings on the pot, unless i dismantle half the welder to get a proper look. I will try to measure the voltage across it too and see what i come up with.
